Float Shoe

Float shoes contain a backpressure valve that prevents fluids from entering the casing while the pipe is lowered into the hole and prevents cement from flowing back into the casing after placement, while enabling circulation down through the casing.

Types

    • Single Valve Float Shoe
    • Double Valve Float Shoe
    • Non-Rotating Float Shoe
    • Stab-In Type Float Shoe
    • Eccentric Nose Float Shoe
    • Side Jet, Up-Jet, Down Jet Float Shoe

Features

• Design is particularly suited to vertical, horizontal and deviational wells
• All internal parts are PDC drillable
• NR Valve is designed for HPHT conditions.
• Floats are spring-loaded, poppet-type valve or flapper type
• Floats are available with single or double poppet valve
• The float shoe also guides the casing toward the center of the hole to minimize hitting rock ledges or washouts as the casing is run into the wellbore.

Available sizes 4 ½” to 20” and any special sizes can be custom made as required.

Float Collars

Float collars are placed one to three joints above the guide shoe or float shoe. They provide a seat for the cement plugs, the bottom plug pumped ahead of the cement and the top plug behind the full volume of slurry. Once seated, the top plug shuts off fluid flow and prevents over-displacement of the cement. The space between the float shoe and the float collar provides a containment area to entrap the likely-contaminated fluids from the wiping action of the top cementing plug, securing the contaminated fluid away from the shoe where a strong cement bond is of primary importance. Float collars include a backpressure valve and serve basically the same function as the float shoe.

Reamer Shoe

Reamer Shoe is designed for downhole applications and is ideally used for well bore condition with severe doglegs, high build rates, and extended horizontal runs. Provide an extra and finished surface for wellbore cementing. Reamer equipped with a Cut-Rite carbide cutting material structure to help eliminate any obstructions. A tapered composite nose is standard with high-port up jet and down-jet nose options to help Jet away filter cake and low side debris in horizontal and deviated well-bores.

Types

  • Single Valve Reamer Shoe
  • Double Valve Reamer Shoe
  • Side Jet, Up-Jet, Down Jet Reamer Shoe

Features

• Design is particularly suited to vertical, horizontal and deviational wells
• Reamer shoes are equipped with a standard enclosed down-jet nose with an aggressive cutting structure.
• All internal parts are PDC drillable
• Compatible with all casing and liner hanger assemblies. Supplied in casing grade as per requirement

Available sizes 4 ½” to 20” and any special sizes can be custom made as required.

Guide Shoe

A guide shoe is installed on the bottom joint of casing and is usually combined with a float collar in the casing string for conventional cementing operations. The guide shoe thru-bore allows conversion balls, tubes and debris to exit the casing without obstruction.

Features

• Rounded cement bull nose allows for smooth running and provides the ability to guide past ledges
Composite eccentric nose available
• Load bearing capability for setting on bottom
• Guide Shoe is PDC drillable
• Side ports
• Down-jets

Available sizes 4 ½” to 20” and any special sizes can be custom made as required.
